		Measure R combines and renews two existing local funding measures for the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District that are due to expire soon. This combined local funding is used for and is a key component in attracting and retaining highly qualified teachers, maintaining reduced class size, protecting academic achievement in math, science, technology, arts, music and reading programs, maintaining school nurses, counselors and technology support, and sustaining school libraries. No funds can be used for administrator salaries.
